Who is Faiz?

Faiz Mitha, “Coach of Change”.  I didn’t exactly plan on this happening as a kid growing up in Western Canada.  My career goals at that time varied from hockey player to hockey coach (the realities of my poor skating took hold at an early age) to actor/comedian.

So how did the kid from Alberta become the ‘Coach of Change’ with a butterfly logo?

The truth of the matter was right from an early age, I had unique perspectives about people and the world.  I had a deep curiousity about why people were the way they were and would think of new possibilities people could live in vs. the pain that I saw instead.     This unique perspective continued to grow and I quickly became the go to person for people seeking support.  I was the guy people would call at 2am on matters ranging from relationships to meaning of life to choosing the right career path.  I would spend most of my time listening deeply with moments of advice and silence thrown in.  People were so thankful afterwards and I realized after hundreds of these conversations that this was not something they had in their everyday life.  Look around in your own life.  How many people really LISTEN to you?  What I notice instead is that others just wait for their moment to talk so they too can be heard and the vicious cycle goes on without any real interaction.

What I noticed in my conversations was in those moments of deep listening and connection, amazing things happened for people.  It was in those moments that deep insights came up, it was in those moments that blocks that were holding people back would become clear, it was in those moments where I saw profound shifts in body language and presence.  Those moments where the catalysts people needed to make lasting changes in their lives.  I was literally amazed by the things I saw and honored to be part of the process. It was at that point that I knew I had to develop that part of me further...enter Coaching.

I pursued my formal Coaching training at Erickson College, a great school based in Vancouver with an international presence.  It was there where I learned how to apply my natural abilities within a framework that was proven and effective.   Helping others seeking changes in their life has always been my passion...its more than that actually, its my purpose.

I’ve done a lot of my own work over the years with literally hundreds of books, countless seminars, meditation retreats, extensive travels, my own coaching sessions and a strong dedication to understanding this guy I see in the mirror everyday.

So there is me in a nutshell.  Whether our paths cross online or in person or even if they don't cross at all, I wish you a life filled with freedom, joy and kickass moments!
